Field Service Engineer for TEWS of America

Our U.S. subsidiary TEWS of America Corp., based in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional technical service and support to customers throughout the United States and internationally, as required. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with advanced industrial measurement technology, receive specialized training on TEWS proprietary systems, and support leading manufacturers across a variety of process industries.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for equipment commissioning, customer training, troubleshooting, feasibility studies, calibration support, preventive maintenance, and repair activities. The successful candidate will be technically capable, customer-focused, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently at customer manufacturing facilities.

• Deliver a high level of customer service by responding professionally and promptly to customer needs and working to meet service expectations.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for TEWS measurement systems, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and performance evaluation.
• Provide equipment installation guidance and perform commissioning of in-line moisture and density measurement systems in manufacturing environments, as well as provide guidance regarding TEWS laboratory systems.
• Assist customers with the development, validation, and optimization of calibration models for their specific products and process conditions.
• Diagnose equipment and system issues; identify and coordinate the appropriate replacement parts, tools, or technical resources required to complete repairs and routine maintenance; and coordinate with TEWS ELEKTRONIK technical personnel in Germany when additional guidance is required.
• Train customer production managers, quality personnel, engineering staff, and maintenance personnel in the proper use, application, care, and basic troubleshooting of TEWS equipment and software.
• Establish, coordinate, and maintain service visit schedules to support timely delivery of customer service and technical support.
• Document service activities, post-visit findings, recommendations, parts requirements, and follow-up actions accurately and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal TEWS personnel regarding technical findings, service status, scheduling, and required next steps.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge through TEWS training, manufacturer documentation, individual study, and hands-on experience.
• Demonstrate sound technical judgment, including recognizing when additional technical guidance is required and coordinating with TEWS ELEKTRONIK engineering and technical personnel before providing recommendations to customers.
• Communicate technical concerns, limitations, and recommendations accurately without making unauthorized commitments regarding equipment performance, modifications, pricing, warranty, or commercial terms.
• Work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment while representing TEWS at customer facilities.
• Comply with TEWS and customer safety requirements while working in manufacturing and industrial environments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding customer facilities, manufacturing processes, equipment, product information, technical data, and TEWS proprietary information, and comply with applicable customer confidentiality, photography, electronic-device, and information-security requirements.
• Be comfortable with domestic and international travel throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Germany.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and concisely to customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Comfortable communicating with customers and colleagues by telephone, email, video conference, and in person.
• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work responsibly across a variety of customer manufacturing sites. Prior OSHA or equivalent industrial safety training is preferred; TEWS-required safety training will be provided.
• Professional judgment and customer-service orientation when working independently in the field.
• Spanish-language proficiency is beneficial but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline IS REQUIRED. Process, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering disciplines are preferred. LPE, PE, CMfgE, or other certifications very much desirable.
• MINIMUM five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
• Demonstrated experience with quality-control systems and electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial measurement instruments or similar process-control equipment.
• Working knowledge of industrial control and communication systems such as QCS, PLC, DCS, MQTT, and EtherNet/IP is strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight domestic and international travel throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Germany.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally for customer equipment commissioning, service assignments, and TEWS equipment training.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel internationally, including travel to Germany for training and business purposes.

Starting salary of $75,000+, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus company benefits. A signing bonus may be considered for candidates with demonstrated experience in industrial moisture/density measurement technology or a closely related instrumentation field.
